Finished my last AC:Origins tour and I want more. I want to spend more time in this world and I want all the game types. Egyptian Cart Simulator. Nile Farming Simulator. Playerunknown`s Primitive Battlegrounds. Far Cry and Destiny are done, but I want all the others.
There are valid business reasons not to include Origins in that list, but why no Syndicate?
I really love the extremely awesome “hostage demand” genre of negative steam reviews.
It’s gonna be kinda shit and I’ll quickly be tired of it but I can’t possibly not try it, can I — nor can almost anyone else.
Looking at the Magic Leap SDK would be silly when there’s already so much I can do with the hardware I actually own. Looking at the Magic Leap SDK would be silly when there’s already so much I can do with the hardware I actually own. Looking at the Magic Leap SDK would be silly w
Shadow Tactics: Blade of the Shogun was on my wishlist and it was a nice surprise to get it for free with Amazon Prime via Twitch. I was waiting for a sale because I’m not patient enough to get my money’s worth of a tactics game, but it is very good and I’m enjoying it so far.
Also played DubWars which is a very fun concept: a twin-stick space shooter where you don’t control your weapons — they’re synced with the music. I’m not good (or, again, patient) enough to even finish the first stage but I really like the idea.
On the one hand, Horizon Zero Dawn is at 20€ on PSN… on the other, my controller has stopped working with the console but connects to the computer, which makes me worry that the PS4’s wireless is dead and I’m gonna have bigger problems than HZD’s price.
Why do VR controllers insist on putting icons on their buttons instead of giving each button a unique tactile shape? It’s almost impossible to tell the user “press the A button”, but would be really easy to tell them “press the button that feels like this icon looks.”
In light of what they’ve done with Go, and assuming Project Santa Cruz runs on an Snapdragon 845, the standalone Rift should be more than capable of ending consumer-level PC VR. From that point on, I suspect PCs will be for enterprise / LBE / pro-authoring apps only.
Right now Google’s rig takes thirty seconds to produce a shot but I wonder if their rumored acquisition of Lytro would enable them to make light fields in Street View. Feels like that’s got to be the goal?
We built an AR @Mapbox experience with @metaglasses. The optics are 👌.
Experience this at our #gdc booth #1715.
Ingold argues “player freedom” in single player story games follows a sort of axis / spectrum, from “where do I go now” to “yikes what have I done” (systemic games making your plans go wrong) #GDC18
I hate interactive fiction where the result of player choice doesn’t follow mechanically from the character’s actions so this was basically tailor-made for me 😒
“Far Cry 5’s story is bad. 9/10” Every fucking review today.
I was glad Far Cry 5 came out as I was working on this article - it’s a fun game, and also one that perfectly encapsulates how so many modern video games relate to guns.
Wait a minute… @ThumperGame
