There was a time when I wanted to make a blog about video games, and this is that blog. I’m not really posting anymore, so there’s no point in this, but I can’t quite bring myself to closing this blog.
The game looks pretty, but I’m not going to bother adjusting to the outdated controls. I didn’t try all controller modes, but I did set aiming speed to “fastest” and it was still unusable (and I don’t care about the justifications about how it adds to the tension of the game, there are lots of games that are just as tense with much better controls — just look at Left 4 Dead).
Well, how about that: here’s another game that seems very well done and I’m absolutely not willing to spend more time with. The shooter aspect seems perfectly competent (the only problem being that I didn’t quite feel when I was getting hurt, and was surprised to find out I had been killed — also, I’m sure there’s a reason why the enemies are bullet sponges, seeing how armored they are, but that’s still a bit annoying), and the fear part… well, is also pretty competent.
I’d say it could be interesting to see how it plays in multiplayer (where I figure you’re rid of the ghosts and visions), but there isn’t exactly a lack of online FPSs these days, and I doubt this one has anything to offer that Call of Duty et al. don’t.
As far as I’m concerned, the most important bit is still not public: “still unannounced multiplayer additions.
” The price has been announced, however, and it’s expensive. Since I don’t care for their storytelling and riding bikes is what I enjoy least in the game, it’s going to take a lot for me to shell out the points.
Good thing it’s too late for someone’s birthday tomorrow.
